Editor's note:

Gotta love Summer!

Hot Summer

There's just something about the hot and humid summer days in the south. Usually by mid-July the air seems so thick you can cut through it. Then in the afternoon, stray thunderstorms pop up to cool things down. When it comes to the weather in Georgia, we have a saying that anyone who has lived here long enough agrees, "Stick around for a few minutes. It'll change."

When it comes to change, you can count on AutomationDirect. We continue to provide new products and award-winning customer service to change the way others view the Industrial Automation market – by providing the number one value in automation with low prices, fast shipping and superior service.

This month’s newsletter contains information on our latest product releases, the latest webinar schedule, Tech Talk, NOTEBOOK and more. As always, this enewsletter would not be complete without the Lighter Side.

Be sure to send us information about your applications. We are always excited to learn the unique ways customers use AutomationDirect products.

System configurators from AutomationDirectTry our Online Configuration Tools
Need some guidance in choosing the right products for your application? See these helpful online resources for PLC, HMI and motion products that assist you in the selection/configuration process.

Choose a system you'd like to configure. . .

Programmable controller configuration tools:
We have several Web-based tools to help you configure programmable controller systems.  These tools keep track of your total I/O count, power budget (if required), and the total price of the system.  They also prompt you for accessories that might be needed or desired for a particular system.  When you have completely configured a system, there is an "Add to Cart" button, that will take you to the main Web store for quick and easy check-out.

Use a 3D viewer and configuration tool for our popular 3-inch line of C-more Micro HMI products  This tool allows you to zoom, pan, and rotate the C-more Micro unit on-screen, and add or remove various accessories to see them mated to the base HMI unit.  The tool also tracks the total price of the system as you have designed it.  When you are ready to purchase, click the "Buy Now" button to go to the store and check-out.   Note: you may have to install a "browser plugin" from Viewpoint in order to use this interactive 3D experience.

SureServo system
SureServo configurator
When configuring a SureServo system, you need to make sure you order the proper power and feedback cables and in the correct lengths.  There are also some breakout options for the I/O connector on the front of the servo drive.  Once you have selected the proper size servo system for your application, our suggested system pages make the specifying easy.  Just select the cable lengths, and your preferred I/O breakout option, and click "Add This System To Cart" – to proceed to check-out.

Have ideas for additional selector tools?  We already have some others in the works, but we'd love to hear your ideas also.  Drop us a line at:

The Lighter Side
From one of our team members

What'd ya say?

What'd ya say? While in her 80's, my grandmother lived with us. She was a lovely person with one flaw; she could not hear very well. After dinner one day, my dad was telling a story about one of his friends. My grandma was leaning across the table trying to catch every word. About half way through his tale, my dad suddenly stopped. With a confused look on his face he said, "Well, I lost my train of thought." All of a sudden, my grandma jumped back. Looking very concerned, she replied, "What!? You say you lost your chainsaw?"
